Liz presented a lesson on Dewey. She showed a Dewey rap that the students really enjoyed. During check out, I noticed that students were checking out different types of books that Liz highlighted because they didn't know that they were even in the library.
The majority of our time was spent talking with the Network Administrator, Mark. During this conversation, it be apparent why were are having some of the tech problems in the district. There is a definite difference in philosophy among the administration. I almost lost my mind when he said something like "Our kids are so far behind in technology that it doesn't matter what we do. They won't catch up." Liz and I feel like it is an uphill battle to get everyone on the same page.
That afternoon, I met with my Follett representative, Duane. He was so impressed with my ability to navigate Titlewave. Really, having the Follett representatives come into class and give their presentation was one of the best things that came out of Collection Development.
